Tips on improving your match %
Some users have written in that their match percentages are quite low - perhaps their best match is under 50%. This usually means that you have left a large part of your profile empty and too many fields are unable to be matched.
We'll be rolling out a new system very soon for updating your profile that will be more streamlined and easier to use.
That said, you can increase your matches and how many emails you receive right now by doing these 4 things:
1) Make sure you have at least one (3-4 is ideal) picture posted. People don't often write to people with a big question mark on their profile.
2) Fill out, as much as you can, your profile details under "Edit My Profile". You may not want to take the time to write out the "free form" text answers, but filling even one or two out will help us match you better. The CanoodleBot does scan text fields and will increase your match % with another user if you both have the same word - i.e. "tennis".
3) Make sure you've filled out "What I'm Looking For". You can select answers completely different from your "My Profile" answers - a nod to the fact that we don't all want clones of ourselves - and even tell us how important each field is. Or you can be lazy and click the button on the top right that will base the answers off of your own profile. Just make sure it's filled out!
4) Finally - if you are Jewish and are a member of CanoodleOnline.com, you will probably get better matches if you switch your site affiliation to JewCanoodle.com where we have an extra set of questions related to your Jewiness. That helps us match people who are secular/unaffiliated together and people who are Orthodox together. If you aren't on JewCanoodle.com, you don't have those questions and your match % will be lower. You can set this affiliation in "Edit My Profile" under "Subsites" - just select JewCanoodle.com and then scroll down to Save your changes.
And remember, the more users we have, the more matches you'll get - for free! So please use the "Share Canoodle!" link on the bottom right of every page to tell your friends.
